Would you like to make your own musical instrument? I offer specialist classes at my workshop in Ramsgate, where you can learn all the techniques for making your own string instrument.
The class numbers are kept small, to ensure everyone has space to work and I have the time to give each student help and advice. I will guide you through the decision making process of wood choices, the design and planning. The construction process is undertaken under my guidance.
Current and past students have made classical guitars, flat top and carved mandolins, carved folk guitars and ukeleles.
I am running a weekly evening class from my workshop, Thursdays 17:30 to 20:30 during school term times. Students are able to choose the instrument they want to make. So far students have have been working on ukuleles, mandolins, classical guitars, a carved top / carved back guitar and a tenor viola da gamba.
